Used for over 2000 Years and Original from Southwest, belongs to the ginger family.
It’s the essential ingredient in Indian and Middle Eastern dishes that accentuates the flavour and adds colour to various dishes, especially rice. The Earthy taste with a slightly bitter and musky trait, it releases a sweet earthy aroma. One of main ingredient in the curry powder mixture and the Ras el Hanout, its is often a substitute for saffron because it also gives a yellow colour, but not so vivid. It is believed to have a lot of medicinal uses, such as digestion aid, antiseptic for cuts, burns and in skin problems. -

Should be dissolved in a warm broth before being incorporated into a recipe. Usually used to colour dairy products, beverages and mustard, in stews, soups, stews, sauces, fish, bean dishes, recipes with eggs, mayonnaise, pasta, chicken, potatoes, cauliflower and even breads.
